December 4, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Live Reading and Book Launch

Gary Kamiya’s Marginalia Edition of A Christmas Carol

With Gary Kamiya and friends

Dear friends,

Join us on Tuesday, December 4th at 7pm for a seasonal celebration and launch party for Gary Kamiya’s special hand-annotated edition of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. The evening will include a live reading of the famous holiday tale.

A Christmas Carol was first published in London on 19 December 1843 by Chapman & Hall. The novella met with instant success and critical acclaim. It tells the story of a bitter old miser named Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation into a gentler, kindlier man.

Scrooge has no time for the poor or the wretched. And it’s “Bah, humbug!” to anyone who wishes him a Merry Christmas. But when he turns in for the night one cold, fateful Christmas Eve, his past, present, and future converge. Three haunting guests are about to show him that the time has come to change his miserly ways—before it’s too late.

This limited edition is a reproduction of the very personal copy of confirmed Dickens aficionado Gary Kamiya, complete with the author’s hand-written scribbles, notes, and exclamations.

The party is free and open to everyone, but space will be limited so make sure to arrive timely.

Order Gary Kamiya’s Christmas Carol here and have your copy delivered to you prior to the event, or collect it in person at the event. You might even get Gary Kamiya to sign it for you!

“It’s not too late! This is the message of A Christmas Carol – the idea that no matter how lost, broken-down, and just plain cussed you may be, you can always change your ways. Charles Dickens’s little book may not be the largest ornament on the Christmas tree of literature, but it’s one of the ones I love most. It is a beacon of hope that never goes out.”   – Gary Kamiya
